Description : The Brown Bush-hen is an olive-brown bird with a short tail and long legs and toes (adult bird length approximately 28 cm, weight 130 g, wing 12 cm, bill 3 cm, tarsus 5 cm, tail 6 cm). It looks olive-brown from above and ashy-grey from below. It has blood-red irises, reddish bill with a bluish tip, and pinkish-brown legs and feet. It feeds on insects and their larvae, molluscs, worms and seeds of water plants.
