Little Cormorant Did you see this animal?

Scientific Name : Microcarbo niger
Family : Phalacrocoracidae
Order : Suliformes
Class : Aves
Phylum : Chordata
Habitat : Wetlands

Description : The Little Cormorant looks black all over (adult bird length approximately 51 cm, weight 430 g, wing 19 cm, bill 3.2 cm, tarsus 3.7 cm, tail 14 cm). Its back and wing- coverts are scalloped with black. The legs and feet are black. It feeds on fish, frogs and crustaceans. Little cormorants forage alone or in small groups, swimming underwater to capture fish. They bring their prey to the surface and may face attempts by other birds to steal their catch. They often spread their wings after emerging from the water, which is believed to aid in drying. Breeding season occurs from July to September, with both parents participating in nest-building. Nests are built on trees or coconut palms, sometimes alongside other bird species. The clutch size ranges from two to six eggs, hatching asynchronously. Chicks leave the nest after approximately one month.
