Description : Masked Booby has large robust body. This bird prefers coastal area. Adult bird has white feathers, black mask around face. Tip of the tail feathers are black in color. Juvenile has brown head, neck and upperparts, with whitish collar and whitish scaling on upperparts.The masked booby typically soars at a minimum altitude of 7 meters (23 feet) while reaching speeds of up to 70 kilometers per hour (43 miles per hour). Its flight pattern involves a combination of gliding and active flying, with regular and forceful flapping of its wings. This seabird is commonly observed flying solo, or occasionally in small clusters, as it returns to its breeding colony.Masked Boobies typically lay one or two eggs in a shallow depression on the ground, which the males often adorn with decorative materials. For instance, a specific nest was found to contain 988 pebbles or coral pieces, 155 shell fragments, 10 bird bones, and a single piece of wood.
