Description : The Hodgson’s Frogmouth is a cryptically coloured bird with a wide frog-like gape and tuft of bristles above its bill (adult bird length approximately 27 cm, wing 13.5 cm, bill 1.5 cm, tarsus 1.6 cm, tail 14 cm). The male looks entirely grey-brown, marked cryptically. Its breast is dark brown with large white spots. It has a strong stubby fleshy-pink bill, It feeds on beetles, moths, grasshoppers, etc. It roosts in the daytime camouflaged, perched motionless upright on a branch in dense jungle.
