Description : Brown on the upperside, with several light brown bands, a black border, and ocelli on the hindwing. The underside of the wings is brown, with the apex of the forewing purplish silvery. The underside of the forewing contains some ocelli,dark zigzag lines, whereas the hindwing is decorated with a brown band and white centered ocelli. The butterfly has dark brown antennae, head, thorax, and abdomen. It has a wingspan of approximately 5–6 cm (2.0–2.4 inches). These butterflies establish territories and are commonly spotted near the ground level, where they often bask in the sunlight.
