Description : The Popinjay butterfly has bluish-black wings. The upperside of the forewings has a few blue transverse lines and several white spots on its anterior. The underside of the wings is purplish black. Hindwings possess several blue and white spots along with a margin of white crescent bars. The female popinjay has a dull black upperside diffused with green, and metallic green.
