Description : In the wet-season form, both male and female have dull Vandyke brown upperside with tawny subterminal and terminal lines on the wings. The forewing has a short oblique white preapical band. On the underside, the forewing has a blackish brown basal area up to the white band, with three ocelli, and dark brown subterminal and terminal lines. The hindwing has a similar pattern with seven ocelli.

In the dry-season form, the upperside remains the same. However, on the underside, the ocelli are indistinct or absent, and the subterminal and terminal dark lines are faint or missing. The terminal margins are broadly reddish-brown, fading inwardly into lilacine, and the white bar on the forewing is outwardly diffuse. The antennae, head, thorax, and abdomen are dark brown, with the antennae becoming ochraceous towards the apex.
