Description : Both male and female butterflies of this species share similar features. They both have hind wings with long pointed tails. On the underside, the dark bands are sharply defined, creating a distinct appearance. On the upper side, the forewing showcases three yellowish sub-apical patches, while the hind wing displays an extended reddish sub-marginal area. The ocelli, which are larger than those on the underside, appear black. In females, the hind wings are predominantly light-red, and the yellowish band on the forewing is of a paler shade. Overall, these butterflies present a beautiful combination of colors and patterns, with notable differences between the genders.
