Description : This butterfly species exhibits a striking appearance. The male has a rich dark brown upper wing with two obscure black spots and two prominent white spots on the forewing. The hindwing's inner third is covered in long brown hairs. On the underside, both forewing and hindwing display a series of large black ocelli bordered by silvery purple lines, along with a slender lilacine-white straight line near the base. The female closely resembles the male, but with a broader white discal band on the upper forewing and incomplete black spots on the hindwing underside. Their undersides are very dark blackish brown with intricate markings. Overall, these butterflies showcase fascinating features and distinct patterns on their wings.
