Description : The Common Yeoman is a yellow-orange butterfly. On the upperside, the colour transitions from darker in the centre to brighter closer to the edges. A black zigzag line and black margin appear on the forewing's edges. Around 4 black zigzag lines are present on the hindwing. The underside of the wings is paler, almost beige brown, and the markings appear faintly. The female is of a brighter yellow background, with straight lines (rather than zigzag) on the upperside of the hindwing. It lives in Open forests, roads, stream-beds.
