The upper side markings are similar between the two forms. On the underside, the ground color is slightly darker. In the forewing, the transverse discal band is dislocated below vein 3, forming a rough Y-shaped figure with the short band on the discocellulars and the anterior part of the discal band. The hindwing has a large black or dark brown white-encircled spot touching vein 7 near its base, which is absent in A. emolus. The discal and terminal transverse bands on the hindwing have more broken, irregular, and confused pale or white edgings. Antennae, head, thorax, and abdomen are similar to the female of A. emolus, but on the underside, the palpi, thorax, and abdomen are whiter with a slight bluish tint.
