Description : Red Pierrot is small sized butterfly.Upperside of both sexes are black or brownish black with a black and white margin. Underside silvery white with discontinuous black bands in both forewing and hindwing. Hinwing has also a broad orange band close to the margin with white spots. Legs with black and white patterns. The butterfly boasts a wingspan ranging from 3 to 3.5 cm. Its upper wings are predominantly black, except for a substantial orange segment along the lower edge of the hindwing.
On the underside, the forewing appears white and is adorned with black spots concentrated towards the edges. The hindwing displays remarkable characteristics, being white with black spots situated closer to the base. The wing's margin features a broad orange band embellished with white spots. Notably, there exists a considerable amount of diversity in the arrangement of black spots on the hindwings.
