Description : The male butterfly has brown uppersides with a purplish reflection. The forewings have a variable-sized triangular orange patch with blackish bars. The hindwings have a rufous-grey abdominal space and a dull greyish-orange anal patch with blackish spots. Both wings have blackish-brown marginal lines and white cilia. The undersides are pale, dull ochreous-grey with pale ochreous-brown bands edged with silvery scales. The female is similar but with brighter orange-red anal patches and larger anal spots. Antennae are black with white dots on the sides, and the head and body match the wing coloration.
