Description : Male upperside: Dull purple with blue suffusion at the wing bases. Both forewings and hindwings have distinct jet-black anteciliary lines, expanding slightly at the forewing apex. Hindwing has irregular transverse sub-terminal black spots in interspaces 1 to 3 and a posterior basal area covered in purplish-brown hairs. Underside: Purplish brown with smooth satiny lustre. Forewing has short discocellular band, sinuate margins in a broader discal band, and a narrower subterminal lunular band. Hindwing has transverse lines of slender white lunules, black spots at base and subterminal area. Both wings have jet-black anteciliary lines. Antennae black with speckles of white; head, thorax, and abdomen purplish brown.

Female upperside: Brown with violet-blue gloss at the wing bases, which may extend partially on the forewing. Both wings have slender anteciliary black lines, and hindwing has small black spots in the interspaces bordered by white threads. Underside: Slightly paler with similar markings. Antennae blackish-brown with white speckles; head, thorax, and abdomen brown, while the undersides of the palpi, thorax, and abdomen are paler brown.
