Description : The male has a dark shiny purple-blue upper side with black lines on the costal and outer margins of the wings. The underside is grey with a pinkish-brown tint, and the forewing has spots and bands of chocolate-brown edged with bluish-white. The hindwing also has brown spots and bands with bluish-white edges. The female is similar but paler and brighter blue on the upper side, with broader black bands on the wings. The underside is the same as the male. Both have black antennae, black palpi above and whitish beneath, and blackish-brown above the head and body, and grey underneath.
