Description : The male butterfly has lavender-blue uppersides with brown markings on the forewings and narrow brown costa on the hindwings. The undersides are greyish-brown with transverse darker brown markings edged in white lines. The female is brown with blue iridescence on the forewings and slight blue near the base of the hindwings. The undersides are similar to the male but with slightly larger and clearer markings. Both genders have black antennae with white rings and brown head, thorax, and abdomen. The head and thorax may have bluish hairs, while the undersides are whitish for the palpi, thorax, and abdomen.
