Description : Upperside of the wings is darkbrown-black. A wide transversal yellow band is present in the middle of the forewing and continues to the hindwing. Apex of forewing and subterminal area of hindwing have a few yellow-white spots. Underside of the wings of a paler brown, with a similar yellow-white band to the one on the upperside, bordered by a red-brown carved line on the outer part. On the edges of the forewing and hindwing there are a series of crescent-shaped red spots, sometimes with white infill.
