Description : The butterfly's upper side is dark black with white markings. On the forewing, there's a white streak at the base and two white spots within the cell, along with a larger triangular spot at the end of the cell. Moving towards the outer edge, there's a row of seven white spots in a curved line, with the upper two being long and narrow, and the others gradually becoming wider. Next, there's a row of six small, somewhat crescent-shaped spots in the middle of the wing, and another row of faint whitish patches towards the outer edge.

On the underside, the butterfly is bright yellowish-ochreous with similar white markings as on the upper side, but they are purer white and often bordered with black. The outer edge of the wings has thin, slightly violet-white patches with black edges. The hindwing has two white bands, one broad band near the center and a narrower one towards the outer edge, which has small black spots along its inner edge.

The body is black on top, with two white bands on the thorax and white bands on the abdomen. The butterfly's head and collar are ochreous (yellowish-brown). The underside of the palpi (mouthparts) and legs are greyish-white, and the antennae are black with the first joint being white underneath. The markings on this butterfly are more prominent and wider during the dry season.

In simple terms, this butterfly has dark black wings on top with white spots and streaks. On the underside, the wings are bright yellowish with white markings outlined in black, and the body has black on top with white bands.
