Description : Gangetic erethistes is a medium sized fish with a depressed head and 4 pairs of barbels.Dorsal spines are shorter than head whereas pectoral spines are almost as long as head.Body is black to deep brown with some irregular bands.All barbels and fins except dorsal are striped.
