Description : Indo-Pacific bottlenose dolphins are a medium-sized dolphin species, typically measuring between 2 and 4 meters in length and weighing up to 650 kg. They have a robust, streamlined body with a dark grey or bluish-grey color on their back and sides, and a lighter shade on their belly.
Their dorsal fin is tall and curved, and their flippers are long and pointed, making them well-adapted for swimming and maneuvering in the water.
They have a set of 18 to 28 conical teeth on each side of their upper and lower jaws, which they use to catch and eat a variety of fish and squid.
Indo-Pacific bottlenose dolphins are highly social animals that live in groups of 10 to 30 individuals, but sometimes up to 100, and can form larger communities. They communicate with each other through a complex system of vocalizations, including whistles, clicks, and chirps.
They are found in a wide range of coastal and offshore waters.
