Description : The Asian golden cat is a stocky and muscular cat with a short, dense coat that varies in color from reddish-brown to gray. The fur on its belly and chest is usually lighter in color, and it has spots on its back and sides.

The Asian golden cat typically weighs between 11 to 16 kg (24 to 35 lb) and measures between 70 to 105 cm (28 to 41 in) in body length. Its tail is about half the length of its body, measuring between 35 to 50 cm (14 to 20 in).

The Asian golden cat inhabits a variety of forest types, from tropical rainforests to temperate deciduous forests, and can be found at elevations up to 3,000 meters (9,800 ft).

The Asian golden cat is a solitary and nocturnal hunter that preys on a variety of animals, including rodents, birds, reptiles, and small mammals. It is a skilled climber and can also swim when necessary.

The Asian golden cat is listed as Near Threatened by the International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN) due to habitat loss and hunting for its fur and body parts, which are used in traditional medicine. However, there is still much that is unknown about the species, and more research is needed to determine its exact population size and range.
