The caterpillars display a spiny appearance, featuring two rows of spines on their upper side. Additionally, finer spines emerge between these rows. At the end of their bodies, there is an irregular cluster of small spines. The coloration of these caterpillars is quite diverse, with some being green and bearing longitudinal dark brown lines, while others are dark brown with a broad white dorsal stripe that is interrupted and doesn't extend to either end. Their wing-cases are slender and somewhat dilated, with a dorsal protuberance and two small points near the head. The coloration of the wing-cases can also vary. When attached by their tail, the pupa remains rigidly positioned, causing it to stand horizontally when the surface it is on is vertical.
