Description : It has a slender body that is flattened from side to side. It has a brownish-orange or greenish-yellow dorsal surface with black crossbands and a white ventral surface. Adults can grow up to 1.2 meters (4 feet) in length.The ornate flying snake can be found in forests, agricultural fields, and urban areas. They are arboreal and are often found in trees. Their diet consists mainly of lizards and small mammals. Chrysopelea ornata is known for its ability to glide through the air by flattening its body and moving from tree to tree. It is not a true flier and does not have wings, but it can glide up to 100 meters (330 feet) in a single jump. These snakes are oviparous and lay eggs in clutches of 3-6. The ornate flying snake is listed as Least Concern on the IUCN Red List of Threatened Species, although their populations are threatened by habitat loss and fragmentation.
