Description : The Common Indian Cat Snake has a slender and elongated body that can grow up to 1.5 meters in length. Its head is triangular in shape and slightly flattened. Its coloration varies from brownish-gray to olive green, with a pattern of black and white dots or stripes.This species is mostly nocturnal and arboreal, which means it prefers to hunt and live in trees. It is also a good swimmer and can often be found near water bodies. The Common Indian Cat Snake is usually docile and non-aggressive towards humans, but may bite if it feels threatened. The Common Indian Cat Snake primarily feeds on small rodents, lizards, and birds. It is known for its ability to catch prey by hanging upside down from branches and using its strong tail to wrap around its prey. This snake species is commonly found in forested areas, as well as in urban areas near human settlements. It is found throughout India, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, and parts of Southeast Asia. The Common Indian Cat Snake is oviparous, meaning it lays eggs rather than giving birth to live young. The female can lay up to 8-12 eggs at a time, which she guards until they hatch after about 2-3 months.
