Description : ইউরেশীয় গুলিন্দা/বড় গুলিন্দা বড় সাইজের বাদামি রঙের জলজ পাখি। লম্বা সাইজের ঠোঁট নিচের দিকে বাঁকানো থাকে(পূর্ণ বয়স্ক পাখির দৈর্ঘ্য প্রায় ৫৮সেমি, ওজন ৬৭০ গ্রাম, ডানা ৩১সেমি. পর্যন্ত হতে পারে) এরা প্রধানত জলজ কীট, অমেরুদণ্ডী প্রাণী খায়। এছাড়া প্রজনন স্থানে ঘাসফড়িং, উভচর খায়।এদের বিভিন্ন আবাসস্থল যেমন তৃণভূমি এবং অনুরূপ পরিবেশে একটি সাধারণত তারা বাসা তৈরি করে। এপ্রিল বা মে মাসে স্ত্রী চারটি ডিম পাড়ে। ডিম ফুটতে শুরু করা পর্যন্ত ইনকিউবেশন প্রায় এক মাস স্থায়ী হয়। শিয়াল এবং শিকারী পাখি এদের ডিম শিকার করে বলে জানা গেছে।
