Description : মোটাঠুঁটো বাটান ছোট আকারের উপকূলীয় অঞ্চলের পাখি। পাখিটির লম্বা ঠোঁটের আগা নিচের দিকে বাঁকানো থাকে।(পূর্ণ বয়স্ক পাখির দৈর্ঘ্য প্রায় ১৭ সেমি. ওজন ৩৫ গ্রাম, ডানা ১০.৫ সেমি. পর্যন্ত হতে পারে) প্রজননকাল ছাড়া এদের দেহের উপরের অংশ ধূসর-বাদামি আর নিচের দিকে সাদা রঙের হয়। এদের হাল্কা রঙের ডবল সুপারসিলিয়াম (চোখের ভ্রু) থাকে। এরা পোকামাকড়, ক্ষুদ্র অমেরুদণ্ডী প্রাণী খেয়ে থাকে।
