Description : বন বাটান/ বালু বাটান ছোট ধূসর বাদামি রঙের পাখি।(পূর্ণ বয়স্ক পাখির দৈর্ঘ্য প্রায় ২০ সেমি. ওজন ৫২ গ্রাম, ডানা ১২.৫ সেমি. পর্যন্ত হতে পারে) পাখিটির চোখের ভ্রু সাদা রঙের হয়। অপ্রজনন মৌসুমে এদের দেহের উপরের দিক বাদামি ধূসর এবং নিচের দিক সাদা রঙের হয়। শীতকালে এরা কীটপতঙ্গ, ছোট মাছ, ব্যাঙ ইত্যাদি খায় আর প্রজনন মৌসুমে প্রধানত জলজ পোকামাকড় আর পোকামাকড়ের লার্ভা খেয়ে থাকে।
