Now, let's talk about its appearance:
The body color is silvery with 13-18 bluish spots, mostly above the lateral line.
Its fins are quite eye-catching, usually bright pinkish or yellowish.

The head is about 4.3-4.6 times the size of its body's standard length and 5.4-5.7 times the size of its total length.
Its body height is roughly 4.5-4.6 times the size of its standard length and 5.5-5.6 times the size of its total length.
The eye size is about 3.2-3.6 times the size of its head.
The space between its eyes (interorbital) varies from 0.9-1.0 times the size of its head.
Now, for its fins:
It has 9 dorsal fin rays, with 2 in the front part and 7 in the back.
There are 14 rays in its pectoral fin.
9 rays in its pelvic fin.
The anal fin usually has 14-15 rays, with 2 in the front part and 11-12 in the back.
This fish typically grows up to a maximum length of about 12.5 centimeters and can be found in streams and rivers near hills. It's also present in rivers and canals around Dinajpur and the Jamuna river.
