Description : Water buffalo are also large and can weigh up to 1200 kg (2,646 pounds) for males and 800 kg (1,764 pounds) for females.

Adult water buffalo have a dark brown or black coat, with white markings on their face and legs.

Water buffalo are adapted to live in wetlands, swamps, and marshes.

Water buffalo are herbivores, feeding on grasses, aquatic plants, and other vegetation.

Water buffalo are social animals, living in groups of up to 30 individuals. They are also domesticated for use as draft animals and for their milk and meat.

Water buffalo are not considered threatened, although feral populations in some areas may compete with native wildlife and damage habitats.
