Description : The wet-season brood of this butterfly has males with upper sides that are greyish-white. The fore-wings have a black band merging into a broad black apical outer-marginal band. There are white spots before the apex. Females have a black upper side with a central greyish-white patch on the fore-wing.

In the dry-season brood, males are smaller and have narrower black outer bands on the fore-wings, with larger enclosed white spots. The hind-wings are unmarked. Females in the dry season have broader greyish-white areas on the fore-wings and submarginal whitish spots on the hind-wings.

Both wet and dry season forms have undersides with varying markings, including zigzag fasciae and discocellular dots.
