Description : In the wet-season brood, male butterflies have greyish-white upper sides with a black band on the fore-wings that curves and encloses white spots. Females have a black upper side with a greyish-white patch on the fore-wing.
The dry-season brood of males is smaller with narrower black bands on the fore-wings. Females have black bands with disconnected markings on the upper sides.
There's also an intermediate form with variations in markings on both males and females. Dry-season males are smaller with less prominent black bands on the upper side.
