Scientific Name : Pareronia ceylanica
Family : Pieridae
Order : Lepidoptera
Class : Insecta
Phylum : Arthropoda
Habitat : Forests,low bushes
Description : The dark wanderer butterfly is similar to Pareronia valeria in color and markings but with differences. In males, the upper side is a deeper blue with broader terminal black borders on both wings. Unlike P. valeria hippia, there are few or no bluish-white spots in a series on the terminal border. The terminal black border on hindwing is even broader proportionately. Underside is similar to P. valeria. Females resemble P. valeria females, but on the upper side, the outer black margins beyond the discal markings are much broader. The transverse subterminal series of spots is farther from the terminal edge. Underside features broader and darker terminal black borders, and the subterminal spots are absent or indistinct due to the dense dusky black terminal margin. Antennae, head, thorax, and abdomen are similar in both sexes.
