Scientific Name : Tajuria cippus
Family : Lycaenidae
Order : Lepidoptera
Class : Insecta
Phylum : Arthropoda
Habitat : Moist forests

Description : Male:
Upper Side: Deep cyaneous-blue hue, displaying a luminous blue-green sheen under specific lighting conditions. Forewing exhibits an almost entirely black apical half, a slender black stripe along the costa extending to the cell's end, followed by an almost straight inner margin of the apical band, curving slightly above the hind angle. The remainder of the wing, including the cell and a narrow basal streak above the sub-costal vein, showcases a blue shade. The median vein and the base of its branch are black. Hindwing features a broadly black costal band, finely black outer marginal line, and black sub-costal vein. The abdominal fold is in a blackish-brown hue. An anal angle bears a black spot covered in pale bluish-white scales. Tails are black with white tips. Cilia on both wings are black with pale ends. Underside appears grey. Forewing might occasionally display faintly indicated black thin lunules in a diseal series, but often these are absent, rendering the wing unmarked. Hindwing showcases a distinct diseal series of similar marks closer to the margin than usual. The upper marks are arranged more or less linearly and are well-separated. The last two marks are curved, bending onto the abdominal margin just above the anal angle. A sub-marginal pale grey band exists, accompanied by another narrower and even paler band near the margin. An anal spot is black with small white spots on each side of its upper part. Another larger black spot is found in the first interspace, capped with orange, and the space between them is pale bluish-white with a few dark blue scales. Terminal line on both wings is dark brown. Antennae are black with white rings, and the antenna club has a red tip. The frons is white with a black middle stripe, and the eyes are ringed with white. The head and body's colors are consistent with those of the wings.

Female:
Upper Side: Pale greyish-blue tone, with slightly darker shades toward the base and a scattering of brighter blue scales. The marginal bands are in blackish-brown hue, broader on the costa and narrower at the apex compared to the male. Hindwing tends to be darker than the forewing, with paler bands. The costal band, broader than the male's, has its lower part darker than the upper. The outer marginal band is wider and composed of distinct spots. A somewhat prominent discal band displays evenly curved, somewhat lunular marks, arranged in a staggered formation. Underside resembles that of the male, with the discal series on both wings nearly always present.
