Description : বেগুনি পিঠ শালিক একটি ছোট লেজ ও ভোতা ঠোট বিশিষ্ট ছোটখাটো শালিক।প্রাপ্তবয়স্ক পুরুষ পাখির ধূসর মাথা,গ্রীবা,ও পেট দেখা যায়,ঝুটির পেছনের অংশ, পাখার আবরনের পট্টি বেগুনিভাব কালো, পাখার মধ্যভাগ ও অগ্রপ্রান্তে এবং ডানার সংযোগস্থলে সাদা V আকৃতির লক্ষনীয় নকশা তৈরি করে।তার পিছনে চকচকে সবুজাভ কালো পাখার পট্টি সাথে ধূসরাভ সাদা পাখার নিচের গোড়ার অংশ ও পাখার পালকের শেষপ্রান্ত দেখা যায়।স্ত্রী অপ্রাপ্তবয়স্ক পাখির রঙ অপেক্ষাকৃত হালকা,পাখার ডোরা ও অগ্রভাগ ও গোড়ার নকশা বাচ্চা পাখির ক্ষেত্রে কম।এরা সর্বভুক।
