Description : খয়রালেজ কাঠশালিক একটি মাঝারি আকারের দলপ্রিয়, ধূসর এবং লালচে বাদামি পাখি।এরা লম্বায় প্রায় ২১সেমি, ওজনে ৪০ গ্রাম,পাখা ১০সেমি, ঠোঁট ২.২ সেমি, টারসাস ২.৩ সেমি,লেজ ৬সেমি।এর অস্বচ্ছ সাদা কপাল ও গাঢ় পাখাযুক্ত মাথা ও পৃষ্ঠ ধূসর।এর অস্বচ্ছ সাদা গলা,ডিম্বাকার পালকযুক্ত উচু সাদা ঝুটি,গ্রিবা ,গলার পাশ ও বুকের উপরিভাগ।পেট,বুক লেজ বাদামি রঙের ,লেজের মাঝে ধূসর পালক রয়েছে।এর ধূসর,বা হলদে সাদা চোখের পাতা এবং বিভিন্ন রঙের ঠোঁট ঃ তামাটে বা সীসার মতো নীল ভিত্তি,সবুজাভ মধ্যভাগ এবং হলুদ অগ্রভাগ।এর পা ,পায়ের পাতা, নখর, হলুদাভ বাদামি বা ফ্যাকাশে সবুজাভ হলুদ ।স্ত্রী ও পুরুষ পাখি দেখতে প্রায় একই রকম।এরা ফল, আঙুর ,মধূ,গুবুরে পোকা এবং শুঁয়োপোকা খেয়ে থাকে।এরা এপ্রিল-জুলাই মাসে প্রজনন করে।
