Description : গাঙশালিক একটি মাঝারি আকারের ধূসর বর্ণের পাখি যার চোখের পেছনে লালচে পট্টিযুক্ত।এরা লম্বায় প্রায় ২১সেমি,ওজনে ৭২ গ্রাম,পাখা ১২সেমি, ঠোঁট ২.৪ সেমি ,টারসাস ৩.৭ সেমি,লেজ ৭সেমি।এর ধূসরাভ কালো মাথা,কপালের কাছে ছোট একগুচ্ছ পালকযুক্ত।এর সারা শরীর মধ্যম ধূসর রঙের ,পাখা ও লেজ গাঢ় ধূসর রংয়ের,কিন্তু ফ্যাকাশে পাখার পট্টি ও হলুদাভ গোলাপি অগ্রভাগযুক্ত লেজ রয়েছে।এর চোখের নিচে ও পেছনে ইটের মতো লাল চামড়াযুক্ত।এর ঠোঁট ও পা কমলা –হলুদ।পুরুষ ও স্ত্রী পাখি দেখতে একইরকম।এরা মার্চ-আগস্ট মাসে প্রজনন করে ।এরা পোকা ও কেঁচো খেয়ে থাকে।
