Description : খয়রামাথা গাংচিল ধূসর সামুদ্রিক পাখি। গ্রীষ্মকালে পাখিটির মাথা্র সাদা অংশ কফি রঙের ন্যায় গাঢ় বাদামি রঙ ধারণ করে।(পূর্ণ বয়স্ক পাখির দৈর্ঘ্য প্রায় ৪৬ সেমি., ডানা ৩৫ সেমি. পর্যন্ত হতে পারে) অপ্রজননকালে প্রাপ্ত বয়স্ক পাখিটির মাথার রঙ সাদা আর কানের পালকের রঙ গাঢ় হয়। এরা প্রধানত মাছ, চিংড়ি খায় তবে মাঝে মাঝে পোকামাকড়, শামুক, কেঁচো শস্য জাতীয় উদ্ভিদের কাণ্ড খেয়ে থাকে।
