Description : কালাঠোঁট পানচিল হাল্কা ধূসর আর সাদা রঙের জলচর পাখি। পাখিটির ঠোঁট শক্ত আর কালো রঙের। দ্বিখণ্ডিত লেজ ধূসর রঙের হয়।(পূর্ণ বয়স্ক পাখির দৈর্ঘ্য প্রায় ৩৮ সেমি, ডানা ৩২ সেমি পর্যন্ত হতে পারে) প্রজনন মৌসুমে এদের দেহের উপরের দিক কালো রঙের বিদ্যমান থাকে। এরা মাছ, পোকামাকড়, উভচর প্রাণী খেয়ে থাকে। তারা বিভিন্ন আবাসস্থল যেমন হ্রদ, জলাভূমি এবং উপকূলীয় অঞ্চলে প্রজনন উপনিবেশ গঠন করে। এর মধ্যে উপসাগর এবং মাটির পাতা রয়েছে। এটি মাটিতে বাসা বাঁধে, মাটিতে একটি অগভীর গর্ত তৈরি করে। এতে দুটি থেকে পাঁচটি ডিমের দেয়।
