Description : স্যান্ডউইচ পানচিল ধূসর রঙের জলচর পাখি। পাখিটির ঠোঁট কালো রঙের। পাখিটির ঘন কালো ঝুঁটি গলার পিছন দিকে বিস্তৃত।(পূর্ণ বয়স্ক পাখির দৈর্ঘ্য প্রায় ৪৪ সেমি, ডানা ৩০.৫ সেমি পর্যন্ত হতে পারে) প্রজননকালে পাখিটি সাদা রঙের হয় তবে মাথায় কালো রঙের ঘন ঝুঁটি দেখা যায়। এরা ছোট মাছ, অমেরুদণ্ডী প্রাণী খেয়ে থাকে। এরা উপকূল, দ্বীপ এবং মাঝে মাঝে মিঠা পানির হ্রদের কাছাকাছি ঘন উপনিবেশে প্রজনন করে। এটি একটি মাটির গর্তে এক থেকে তিনটি ডিম পাড়ে। এটি শিকারী প্রাণীদের নিবৃত্ত করার জন্য অন্যান্য আক্রমনাত্মক প্রজাতির কাছাকাছি বাসা করে।
