Description : দেশি গাংচষা লম্বা ডানার জলচর পাখি, যার ঠোঁটের উপরের অংশের চেয়ে নিচের অংশ খানিকটা লম্বা।(পূর্ণ বয়স্ক পাখির দৈর্ঘ্য প্রায় ৪০ সেমি, ডানা ৩৭ সেমি. পর্যন্ত হতে পারে) প্রজনন মৌসুমে পাখিটির দেহের উপরের দিক কালচে বাদামি, নিচের দিক সাদা। মাথার উপরের অংশ কাল রঙের হয়। এদের প্রজননকাল ফেব্রুয়ারী-মে।
