Description : নীল মাথা হাঁস/ নীলশির বড় সাইজের হাঁস।(পূর্ণ বয়স্ক পাখির দৈর্ঘ্য প্রায় ৫৭ সেমি. ওজন প্রায় ১.২ কেজি ও ডানা প্রায় ২৭ সেমি. পর্যন্ত হতে পারে) প্রজননকালে পুরুষ পাখির শরীর গাঢ় ধূসর ও মাথা কৃষ্ণ সবুজ রঙের। বুকের দিকে বেগুনি-বাদামি রঙ থাকে। একটি অন্যতম বৈশিষ্ট্য হল পাখিটির গলায় সাদা বর্ণের রিং আছে।
