Description : The Indian grey mongoose has a slender body with short legs, a pointed nose, and small ears. Its fur is usually grey or brown in color, with a lighter underbelly.

They typically measure between 36-45 cm in length and weigh between 0.5-2 kg.

The grey mongoose is found throughout the Indian subcontinent and prefers open forests, scrublands, and agricultural areas.

They are primarily insectivores but will also eat small mammals, reptiles, birds, and eggs.

Grey mongooses are solitary animals and are known for their agility and quick reflexes. They are also known for their ability to kill venomous snakes, which they are immune to.

They breed throughout the year and give birth to litters of 2-4 young.

The Indian grey mongoose is not currently considered threatened, but it is often hunted for its fur and for sport.
