Description : Male:
Upperside of forewings is rich velvety black with pale streaks along the veins beyond the cell. Hindwings have a black base, costal area, and terminal border, while the rest is silky yellow. Black veins and cone-shaped markings in the interspaces are present. Some black spots in the interspaces may be seen, but not in a complete series. The abdomen has white scented pubescence underneath. Underside is similar with broader and more prominent pale streaks on the forewing.

Female:
The upper and undersides are similar to the male. Notable differences include broader and more prominent pale streaks on the forewing. The hindwing has broader black areas at the base and along the costal margin. A transverse yellow mark may interrupt the black area in interspace 7. There's also a postdiscal series of large black spots in some interspaces, often joined to the terminal black marks. The dorsal margin is broader black without black hairs. Antenna, head, and thorax resemble the male; the abdomen is dark brownish-black above.
