Description : The male of this butterfly has black uppersides on the forewings with greenish or bluish-white streaks and spots. These include streaks in the cell, broad streaks in several interspaces, rounded spots, and a subterminal series of spots. The hindwings also have similar streaks and spots, with some yellow markings in interspaces 1 and 2. Undersides are brownish with similar but duller markings. Antennae, head, thorax, and abdomen are black with white spots.
Females are similar but may have wider hindwing markings and a chestnut red ground color on the hindwings instead of black or brown.
