Description : It is a butterfly with a wingspan of 7–8 cm. Its upper wings are black with yellowish or greenish spots along the edges and a large yellowish or greenish area in the middle of the forewings. The undersides are brownish with paler spots, and the hindwings have a few red spots.It has black uppersides with green streaks and spots on the forewings and a transverse band on the hindwings. Undersides are brownish with silvery white marking. Sometimes it has broader green and white markings in the discal band, larger spots, and more conspicuous crimson spots on the hindwing underside. Both have black antennae, heads, thoraxes, and abdomens with white or dingy white markings. Males have a grey abdominal fold with white hairs.
