Arabian Gulf Sea Snake Did you see this animal?

Scientific Name : Hydrophis lapemoides
Family : Elapidae
Order : Squamata
Class : Reptilia
Phylum : Chordata
Other Name : Persian Gulf Sea Snake
Habitat : Marine

Description : The maximum length that this species can attain as an adult is 110 centimeters. Their body coloration can range from yellow, olive, to gray, with paler shades on their sides and belly, and featuring olive to black banding. Meanwhile, juveniles possess a yellow mark on their head and their tail is flattened. The primary diet of this snake species consists of fish, and it is known to occasionally be caught unintentionally as bycatch in fishing operations. While primarily a marine species, it is capable of entering and living in freshwater bodies for extended periods of time. This species is also venomous. Despite being a common and widespread species, little is known about its biology. During the mating season, large groups of these sea snakes can often be seen on the surface of the sea, although when Dolphin pods are present, these masses of sea snakes are notably absent, leading to speculation that the Dolphin is a natural predator of this species.
