Description : This fish has a long, deep, and slightly flattened body with a mouth that slants a bit. You can count about 51-56 scales in a line along its side.

The body is mostly translucent and shines with a bright silver color.
It's light olive on its back and whitish below.
You'll notice a greenish stripe running along its body from the level of its dorsal fin.
Its fins are yellowish.
For its measurements:

The body depth is about 3.2-4.6 times its standard length (the usual measurement for fish).
This fish can grow up to a maximum length of about 5 cm.
You can find it in flowing waters, especially in plains and submontane regions. It likes to stay near the surface in places like canals, beels (shallow lakes), oxbow lakes, and rivers.

When it comes to breeding, it freely breeds in ponds, tanks, and small streams.
