Description : Fulvous fruit bats are medium-sized bats with a wingspan of around 60-90 cm (2-3 feet).
These bats have a distinct fur coloration, with a reddish-brown or fulvous (tawny) color on their backs, while their undersides are lighter in color. They have a broad nose and large eyes.
As their name suggests, Fulvous fruit bats are primarily frugivorous, which means they feed on fruits such as bananas, mangoes, and guavas. They may also consume nectar and pollen.
These bats are found in tropical and subtropical forests, and they roost in trees during the day.
Fulvous fruit bats are social animals and live in large colonies, which may consist of several hundred individuals. They are nocturnal and are most active at night, when they leave their roosts to forage for food.
Females give birth to one offspring at a time, and the young are nursed for several months before they are weaned.
Fulvous fruit bats are classified as "vulnerable" by the International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN) due to habitat loss and hunting.
