Description : বেগুনি পাপিয়া বনাঞ্চলের পাখি।(পূর্ণ বয়স্ক পাখির দৈর্ঘ্য প্রায় ১৭ সেমি. ডানা প্রায় ১০ সেমি. পর্যন্ত হতে পারে) পুরুষ পাখির মাথা, গলা, বুক বেগুনি রঙের ও ঠোঁট উজ্জ্বল কমলা রঙের হয়। স্ত্রী পাখির রঙ ব্রোঞ্জের মত। এরা নরম দেহের পোকামাকড়, শুঁয়োপোকা খায়। গ্রীষ্মকালে প্রজনন ঋতুতে পুরুষ পাখি দিনে ও রাতের চাঁদের আলোতে মধুর সুরে গান করে।
