Description : খয়রাপাখা পাপিয়া মাথায় ঝুঁটিওয়ালা লম্বা লেজের পাখি।(পূর্ণ বয়স্ক পাখির দৈর্ঘ্য প্রায় ৪৭ সেমি. ওজন ৭০ গ্রাম, ডানা প্রায় ১৬ সেমি. পর্যন্ত হতে পারে)এদের দেহের উপরের মেটালিক কালো রঙের হয়, ডানা বাদামি রঙের এবং গলার দিকে সাদা রঙের কলার থাকে। এদের লেজ কালো কিন্তু লেজের প্রান্তভাগ সাদা। এই কোকিল কখনও কখনও মিশ্র প্রজাতির চারণ পালকে যোগ দেয় এবং সাধারণত এককভাবে দেখা যায়। এদের প্রজনন মৌসুম গ্রীষ্মে।
